This small apartment renovation, produced in conjunction with ESE Design, consists of new walnut and painted cabinetry in the living room and kitchen and a widened hallway with a wallpapered wall. We raised the kitchen ceiling and removed a dividing wall, adding open shelving above the existing cabinets which were kept. A new walnut island was designed with storage for wine and the owner’s old-fashioned seltzer bottles (picked up and delivered with re-fills weekly). We also added a center-pivoting antique window between the hallway and the study. The study is equipped with walnut shelving on brackets.
